I am a massive lip junkie (well not really actually, I love collecting eyeshadow palettes too 😋). Every time when I bought or think of buying a new lip product, somebody will remind me that I have only a pair of lips and I wouldn't able to put on so many different lipsticks considering there are already so many that I have.
Then I will be like 😒 (eh why my laptop doesn't have the roll eye emoji, anyway I was rolling eyes) and be like 'You are not my friend'. Hahahahahahahaha~ Any one who truly loves makeup especially lipsticks would know that YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY LIP PRODUCTS ok!!! *roll eyes*
I always tell people you wouldn't have to be worried about having too many lipsticks and not able to finish it because you are NEVER GONNA FINISH it get it?!? Before you are half way through your product, you are probably buying another 10 other lipsticks and already fallen in love with one out of the 10 you get me. So yeah you get the idea 😝
Another thing with lipsticks, lip glosses, lip stains, liquid lipsticks or whatever their names are... is you will realise you have eaten most of the products 😮, at least I ate quite some of them. Of course you would not lick your lips when you have something on but you would not take it off either before you eat something right? And then what? After you finished eating you reapply your lipstick again and eat again and reapply again and eat again... This continues for numerous times in a day, imagine how much product you have consumed and I swear that freaked me out when I first realised it. 😱
Do I care that I might die with cancer? HELL YES!

Let's just admit that that is just too much trouble.
I started getting into liquid lipsticks when I was in UK. besides keeping up with the Kylie Lips trend, I find liquid lipsticks don't get my hair stuck on my lips because it appears to be dry. God knows why Liverpool (or is it the whole England?) was super duper windy all the time and you basically don't need to brush your hair or style it before going out because it is gonna be a total waste of your effort trust me.
Because it was so freaking windy and my long hair was all over the place, it get stuck on my lips every single time WITHOUT FAIL WTF! And imagine the whole situation being super messy when I needa pull my hair out of my lips and make sure the products on my hair doesn't stain my face and at the same time crossing the road OMG. Things get even more chaotic when I was wearing lip gloss holy shit and then I was like fuck lipgloss I will never wear lip gloss ever again and I completely ditched lip gloss until this day.🙊
My first liquid lipstick was a Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 07. I remember how amazed I was when I first applied it because it was so light weight and it felt just like mousse on my lips like literally OMG. The staying power was awesome too and most importantly it dried out completely and my hair didn't get stuck on it. HOW AMAZING IS THAT!😱 PS: I lost this lipstick already 😭
So I was debating with myself whether to get other colours from the same range because I was so so so in love with it but the thing is it wasn't cheap at all. If I am not mistaken, it was £8.99, which is not cheap at all for a drugstore product, you know, when Maybelline is only like £6.99. But I ended up buying 2 more, in shade 12 Beau Brun and 02 Frambourjoise.🙈
Since then I started to buy more and more liquid lipsticks and I seldom go back to the Bourjois ones because that's what I said earlier 😌 Until 2 weeks ago I put on shade 12, again I am in love with it because it really appears as its name said 'velvet' with awesome awesome staying power and it doesn't dry the heck of my lips out. I came across this shade in 17 Cool Brown from the same range, I almost bought it from Hermo.my but I didn't. I definitely will if I have extra money 😤.
NYX are some the the affordable ones (£5.99) that I own, I have like 10 of them, with a repetition which is shade Abu Dhabi, I couldn't live without this shade. I think if I am still in UK now, I would continue collecting them until I got all the colour that I love. I love how opaque the nude colours are are they smell so nice, kind of like vanilla sweet scent.

Don't tell me they all look the same *roll eyes* because they are not *roll eyes*!!!
I have others in other colours which are not nude. One thing with this liquid lipstick is there colour and opaqueness is not consistent throughout the range. Shade 34 Dubai is so freaking streaky and the more you apply the product to and for on your lips, the more they cancel out each other and you will end up with no products on. #meh 😕
Shade 34 Dubai and shade 23 Berlin are very similar except Berlin has a bit more reddish tone, however Berlin works amazingly well, it is so much more opaque that Dubai and it keeps up with the standard of other NYX ones that I have.
A few months back which was last year, NYX just had their store landed in Boots and everyone was super crazy about it. My local Boots at Liverpool has a really big booth of NYX brand and every girl was standing at it swatching products especially the lips products, all the hot products were sold out all the time.
I was a huge fan of nude colour and am still, and I managed to squeezed myself into the crowd and grabbed one of their lip lingerie on shade 04. As soon as I got home and tried it on my lips, holy shit 😱 I am in love with it already and had made up my mind to get some more of it in the collection.

This lip lingerie collection is all about nude colour. They have so many nude colours which I think every normal skin tone people can get their favourite nude shade. They have really good staying power. It has a wax kind of texture so it doesn't easily come off even with makeup remover wipes. It can be taken off easily using oil-based remover though, freak not!
The only down side of it is it's super crazy drying, I'm not even kidding! It is the driest liquid lipstick that I have every tried and I'm telling you IT IS DRY AF! It sucks out all the moisture in your lips and it cracks within an hour of application which sucks so freaking much.
It drys out with a sticky surface so when you put your lips together they kind of stick to each other and the product will move from your lower lips to upper lips and from upper lips to lower lips which will then create some kind of tiny holes on your lips because the products are unevenly spreaded out already. You know what I mean?😶
But the colour is too pretty for me to let go of them so I tried to make them work. My solution is to apply a thin layer of lip balm underneath the liquid lipstick. It does take some time for it to dry down completely but hey, it is not that drying anymore and it has a better finish.
My conclusion is, after I have tried out NXY lip lingerie, I can bear ANY liquid lipstick because ain't any liquid lipstick is gonna be as dry as this shit! 😤
Another liquid lipstick is from Tarte in their Naughty Nude Tarteist Lip Paint collection. I immediately fell in love when I first saw it and wanted to buy all of them. So I bought one in shade Choker as a starter to see whether I like it and the end result it I DON'T.
I think this is a total failure when it is a liquid lipstick because it does not meet all the requirements for a liquid lipstick (I'm super aggressive when talking about it, it annoyed me so much *roll eyes*).
- First of all, it DOES'T DRY DOWN AT ALL *roll eyes*! How can a liquid lipstick doesn't dry down at all?!? Might as well not called a liquid lipstick! *roll eyes*. Which means, my hair will still get stuck on my lips if it's windy you know. What's the point?!?
- When it doesn't dry down, it doesn't stick to your lips. When it doesn't stick to your lips, it DOESN'T FREAKING STAY! It is the same as all the other lipsticks where you needa reapply and reapply and reapply every single time because it transfers everywhere!
- When it doesn't dry down, it ISN'T MATTE for God's sake! Goodness! My QOTD:"When a liquid lipstick isn't matte, THROW THAT SHIT AWAY!"
Ok lar, to be fair, the product claims to have a creamy matte formula which it makes some sense that it doesn't dry down completely, but still I'm mad at it!
Oh the colour is nice though and it has a minty scent to it which I... kind of love. I applied 2 layers to achieve the opaqueness that I want which I don't find it a problem at all. PS: I am still mad.

I have 2 lipsticks from this Etude House range, one is nude and another one is a deep berry colour which I love love love. I don't wear this nude shade very often because the shade is too light for my skin tone. I used to wear it occasionally when I was in UK and appeared to be fairer, but now that I'm darker it's not gonna suit my skin tone anymore.
It has quite a sponge like applicator so when you squeeze the tube, the product will be dispensed onto the attached sponge and then you will apply the product onto your lips direct from the sponge. I personally find that sponge is too big for my lips so it's quite hard to apply it in precision.
Top 3 nude lipstick
1. Maybelline Coloursensational Lipstick in shade 630. It has a brownish undertone to it's pink and appears to be darker and opaque than the other two. It isn't a matte shade but a cream finish instead. It has that classic marbling lipstick scent that I love.
2. Soap & Glory lipstick in Barely Pinking. Nice nude colour (nude pink colour), comfortable texture, nice scent. It has a sheer nude kind of finish which is in the middle between the two, which it is more opaque that the Revlon one but a bit sheerer than the above Maybelline one.
3. Revlon Colour Burst in Pink Truffle. This is definitely a 'YouTube made me buy it' kind of lipstick because I was watching Tanya Burr's video and she said this shade is (is or was I don't know😟) her favourite. And guess what, I bought it! It is quite sheer but super super creamy, just like it claimed itself to be butter, glides on lips super well. I sill love it until today because the colour is a very nice pink brownish colour with a very good balance of pink and brown. It gives you a very juicy lip gloss finish but doesn't feel sticky like a lip gloss at all, if that makes sense.
I had another one from the range which is Berry Smoothie which my mum stole it from me already *roll eyes*.
I had been eyeing on this Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in 1993 for the longest time ever, not only the name of it is the year I was born in but also the shade is super nice. So I'm dedicating this one solo picture of it because it is just too pretty to not do so.😍 I had talked about it in my previous post so I'm not gonna talk about it again.
I don't know whether is because I have turned darker after I came back to Malaysia or it is really because my preference has changed over the recent trend, I am more towards brown nude lips than pink nude lips now. Or is it because I am getting older huh? I don't fancy pink as much as I used to be. I find pink is too cute for me now and it just doesn't suit the way I'm dressing up now and how I appear.
I have been the biggest fan of pink since I was small, I wanted everything to be pink especially bright pink. I think it is because I'm turning old, the pink that I like has changed. I still love pink anyway, but in a more soft and subtle way. But the strange thing is I don't put pink colour on me at all! hahahaha~

I love shopping online, including buying makeups. So my tip to get the lipstick shade that matches you is to do a lot of research by watching a lot of YouTube swatch videos.😜 The thing is you have to filter the videos that you watch and choose only those people who have similar skin tones to yours if not the lipstick you bought would be very off, trust me!
I normally do that by checking out their foundation shade. Like I know I'm a MAC NC20 to NC25, so I will watch video swatches of those who has NC20 to NC25 skin tone. By doing so I would normally get the shade that is up to may expectation even though I don't swatch them personally. If I can't find out their skin tone then bo bian or, either risk it buy it online anyway or swatch it in store then only buy it.
Another thing is watching videos can be quite risky because the lighting that is used by different people are different and they way they edit the videos might be different too. A same shade of lipstick might appear differently in 2 different videos, so you might wanna take note of that.
Unless you lip swatch the lipsticks before buying them, or else there is a chance that you might get the wrong shade. I personally don't lip swatch lipsticks because I think it is super unhygienic to do so unless there is a disposable applicator for me to do so, but I know there are people who don't give a fuck and will apply tester directly onto their lips, yuck!
I don't know whether I have problems with my eye judgment or I don't understand myself well enough, but out of 10 lipsticks, there is going to be one lipstick that I bought wrongly which doesn't suit my skin colour. Obviously your eye sight judgment will get better and better as you buy more lipsticks, you know, you gained experiences (and waste money😂), but you definitely have to go through buying a lot of wrong shades first before getting right one, and nope I'm not gonna judge you for buying and throwing a lot of wrong lipsticks.😬
To the people that I know and love, I here have an important announcement!
Sephora has came out with new shades of their own Cream Lip Stain range and they are the BOMB! They have really great shades and they are matte 😱 COMPLETELY MATTE yet not drying at all. They are just too good and is comparable to other more pricey liquid lipsticks I am serious! I am just gonna save more to get them all teehee.
