CLP is the such a pain in the ass, but

I'M BACK!!!

I have been wanting this Tarte palette for the longest time ever. I was debating whether I should get the Kat Von D Light&Shade palette first or this Tarte palette during Sephora VIB sale, I ended up buy Kat Von D palette. But still I really wanna get my hands on this palette.

Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette RM175

There is another Tarte matte palette called the Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette. I was contemplating whether this get the Bloom palette or the matte palette, so I have done a lot of research online (YouTube specifically), a lot of people think that the matte palette is a bit hard to blend, which I can understand. So at last I went for the Bloom palette.

I am not sure what else I need to say about this palette because this is a classic nude palette, just like all the other nude palettes that I have. It is more towards a warm tone nude, except for 3 shimmery colour, all the other colours are matte shades. Those shimmery shades are not some subtle shimmer, like the shade 'funny girl', it has quite some rather big chunk of glitter in it, as compared to the other shades like 'rocker' and 'fire cracker'. I am not personally impressed with the shimmery shades.

I have used almost all of the colours so far except for 2 of the darkest. All the matte shades are pretty good. Unlike the Kat Von D matte shades, I really need to put in some effort to blend in the shades, but they are not particularly hard to blend either. I don't mind putting in some effort to make the colours work though.

Another thing is, it has quite some fallouts. After I have dipped my brush into the pan, a lot of the eyeshadow came out to the side of the palettes. Obviously I wouldn't want all those fallout to be on my face so I took extra care in handling it. I dabbed away all the extra eyeshadow on my brush before applying in onto my eyelid so of course there wouldn't be any fallout under my eyes. I tried to be as light as possible while dipping in the brush to cut down on the fallouts.

I have had my eyes on the Anastasia Beverly Hills (ABH) Subculture palette since it is launched and the whole YouTube beauty community thinks that it has ridiculously too much fallouts. Some people even showed that they have hit pan on the palette because the shadows are not pressed properly. I have not seen or touched the Subculture Palette so I want to be as conservative as possible on this. But I thought when you already know beforehand that the eyeshadow has a lot of fallouts, you should be extra careful with it and be as light handed as possible. I don't think it is a problem especially when ABH Subculture has such gorgeous colours, just like I tried my best to make my Tarte palette work (even though I expect ABH Subculture palette to be worse than Tarte Bloom palette).

Canmake Pressed Powder Cheeks Blush - Plum Pink
Tarte Amazonion Clay 12-Hour Blush - Paaarty

I am not to blush person to begin with, I don't own many blushers. I used to have really red face, I would even use a green colour corrector to tone down the redness on my face, so blusher is really not my thing. Not sure whether I am older now so lesser blood flows to my cheeks, my face is not that red anymore. But I have made it a habit to not use a blusher.

A few months ago I saw this Canmake blusher that went viral in Japan and Taiwan, people were saying that it looks exactly like the flush on your face, that kind of blood red colour, apparently it is said to suit asian skin tone real well. So when Vanessa went to Japan earlier I asked her to bring this back for me. I have to say, it really is a beautiful colour, it is so similar to your flushed cheeks. Except it is quite pigmented and can be a bit patchy, so you would want to be very light handed and build the colour up bit by bit.

I got the Tarte blusher as a part of my birthday reward from Sephora. Nice colour, not too pink, brown or orange. It is a very pretty neutral blusher.  But I don't see myself using it, I don't use blusher is general.

Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain - Pretty Auburn RM49
Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain - Black Cherry RM49
Tarte Tartiest Creamy Matte Lip Paint - Birthday Suit
Peripera Peri's Ink The Velvet - Celeb Deep Rose RM39.10

I have really good experience with Sephora liquid lipstick, I think they are the perfect liquid lipstick and they are so affordable. They are dry out nicely, they are long lasting yet not drying at all, I just hope that they have more brown nude colour instead of pink nude. So I decided to pick up another 2 darker shades this time (mainly because they have marked down the price).

Dark colour can be quite patchy, so these 2 shades are non of the exception but I think I can fix the patchiness by slightly layering it up. After the first layer, I let it dry down a bit and then I will go on with a second layer to fix the patchiness and they turn out to be perfectly fine.

They look quite similar from the tube but they are not! One is more towards a dark red colour an another is a dark brown colour.

I got this mini size Tarte lip paint as part of my birthday reward in Sephora. I have no comment on Tarte lip paint because I personally don't like the formula. They don't dry down and they move around a lot, which drives me crazy. In other words, it has very poor staying power but in other words, it is quite moisturising.

You will like it if you are not a fan of those typical liquid lipstick. However I have to say the colour is absolutely beautiful, it is nude with a slight hint of pink, which is not too much pink to my liking, I love love love the colour. There are quite some gorgeous colours from Tarte lip paint, I just hope that Tarte can come out with new formula of these colours.

As for Peripera Lip Velvet, it doesn't look like the colour they showed if you are seeing it from Hemo.my in fact they look so different. When I was swatching it in the store it looked quite nice that's why I decided to purchase it. However when I apply it the next day, it appears to be quite a different colour. It is still a nice colour anyway, but it is warmer and more neon to what I expected.

It doesn't give a matte finish, however it doesn't appear to be shiny either. It doesn't dry down easily yet it doesn't move around much like the Tarte lip paint, it is moisturising. I quite like the formula especially it leaves a stain on your lips. Even after a meal there is still some colour on your lips, your lips wouldn't appear to be all pale because the colour has been worn off.

Chloé Eau de Parfum Travel Size RM80

What else I can say about this classic Chloé scent. Even though I have found a very similar scent to Chloé, it's from Pull&Bear and THEY SMELL EXCATLY THE SAME trust me. I have had a few of my friends asked me whether I was wearing Chloé scent and I said no. It is that similar, but the Pull&Bear's is so so so much cheaper.

I wanted to attach a link of the Pull&Bear perfume but they don't seem to have it anymore online. OMG! That is so sad, I was planning to get another one of it when I go to UK this time. Hopefully they still have it in-store.

Lastly are books. I always want to read as many books as possible but it is so hard as a Law student, as if I have not had enough readings. I am always impressed with people who can read so many books, I mean, how did they find so much time to read? Now that I have finished exam I can finally read some good books.

Till next time~ xx

Love,
Xiaohui
