New Favourite Essentials | June 2017

I have no blog post in June, that's shame! But it doesn't mean I haven't been purchasing anything this month muahahaha~

I was recalling what I have bought from early this month before I started writing this post and I could not recall any! Gosh where did all my money go ugh!

I will usually stick to a few things that I think are essentials and not wanting to try out new things. I might be very bold and willing to risk in trying new skincares or makeups but I never want to switch those essentials up. However I have discovered some new essentials this month which I wonder why didn't I try them out earlier because they are so so good.

Simple Micellar Cleansing Wipes RM17.80
Nivea Original Care Lip Balm RM11.60
Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Restore Lotion RM20.40

Simple Micellar Cleansing Wipes
I have been the Simple cleansing wipes for the longest time ever. I have gone through so many packets of those however I have only tried the normal type of Simple cleansing wipes, this is the first time I got my hands on the micellar wipes and I am never going back to the normal ones.

I already thought the normal Simple wipes are very good because they don't sting my eyes. Even though they are not the best at removing eye makeup especially those water-proof eyeliners, but I only use cleansing wipes when I am travelling so I still love them even though I would have to spend a little more time removing my eye makeup.

The micellar wipes are so much softer than the normal ones. I only realise how rough the normal wipes are now that I have tried the micellar wipes. The micellar wipes have a much gentler scent as compared to the normal ones, which is a good plus point.

Both the micellar and the normal wipes are of very good sizes as in I can definitely remove my full face makeup using only one wipe. They don't dry out very fast which means each wipe contain enough remover liquid in them. They are unlike some cleansing wipes that dry out extremely fast. Like I said, I need some time to take off my water-proof eye makeup using wipes and I even need to go back a few times to make sure there is no residue makeup, after that the same wipe is still moist enough for me to go through the rest of my face. I can't be more glad than that, that I don't needa use a fresh wipe to do so.

Nivea Lip Balm
I made it a habit to put on a thick layer of lip balm before going to bed. I don't like using lip balm during the day, it is too sticky to my liking (that's why I hate lipgloss too). I figured out the only way to moisturise my lips is to put a thick layer of lip balm on right before I go to bed so I would't feel the stickiness on my lips.

I would't say I have tried many different lip balms but I have tried some popular ones. There are definitely some very high-end lip balms which are extremely pricey such as the By Terry Baume de Rose lip balm and  that has a lot of good reviews. I mean, of course these luxury high end lip balms are good and they better be good for God's sake, they are so freaking expensive.

I have tried Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm and I was one time obsessed with the eos lip balm, but I went back to Vaseline petroleum jelly. Until I couldn't stand the carbon scent of the petroleum jelly one day and I accidently came across a YouTuber recommending the Nivea lip balm, I decided to switch to Nivea.

This Nivea lip balm has a pleasantly sweet scent which I am totally not against. I love this lip balm because I get to layer it up to the thickness I want. I love to have very thick balm on my lips at night, like really thick, so I will go through the lip balm over my lips a few times to achieve that thickness that I want. Unlike some lip balms, you can't really layer things up because of their stiff consistency. This Nivea lip balm is soft and creamy enough to melt down slightly when the balm stick touches my lips so when I put my lips together I can literally feel there is a thick balm-y seal on my lips which it will stay on till the next morning to do its job, not just to moisturise my lips but also prevent my lips from losing moisture to the surrounding.

Overall I am so happy with this lip balm. I am even happier that it is so affordable and easy to get. I don't have to feel heartache when using it and I can be as generous as possible when applying. What's better that spam applying something you love onto yourself.

Vaseline Body Lotion
I swear by Nivea body lotion for the longest time ever. I love its consistency I love its scent, I totally have no problem with the Nivea body lotion. As much as I love Nivea lotions, I would only purchase them when they are discounted (YES I am such a cheapo). That day I was running out of my Nivea lotion and I desperately needed a new one, but when I walked into the store the lotion had no discount. I was like holy shit, what am I gonna do? I couldn't live without my Nivea lotion! There is no way I am gonna spend 25 bucks on the lotion when I can get it for 18 bucks during promotions. So I settled for Vaseline body lotion at the end since they are on sale. #cheapox2

I am so amazed by this Vaseline lotion like seriously. I love its scent to death, it smells so so good. It is thicker than the Nivea's but I don't have problem of it being absorbed into my skin. It still is absorbed almost instantaneously like the Nivea's even though it appears to be thicker. With it being said, it is definitely more moisturising than the Nivea lotion but it is not sticky at all. I love love love it.

Before I got my hands on this yellow bottle Vaseline body lotion, I have never had any good experience with Vaseline body lotion. The pink colour bottle whitening lotion smells awful, I hate how it smells. The green bottle lotion is too watery and too thin that it barely does anything to my skin although it has a very nice and refreshing smell. Now I find myself reaching for this Vaseline lotion so much more than the Nivea one, this shows how much I love this new lotion.

Till next time ~ xx

Love,
Xiaohui
