Halloween was just around the corner and I made plans on the Halloween weekend to go to London and party. I went all out this month buying makeups, I spent an insane amount on makeup this month, I am not even joking. Plus there was 3 for 2 offer... You know the drill~ I had to hold my breathe eveytime I was at the tilt because the total would have me heart attack. Anyways, I am still living right now enjoying all my makeup.

Of course some hits and misses. There are a few things that are so good that completely blown me away but some are like meh. The rest falls under my expectations, good enough to impress me.

1. L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara

People who love mascara will definitely know this, even though I do not use mascara myself and do not pay attention on any mascara I have heard so much about this mascara. I am so curious about why so many people like it even Tati@galmlifeguru had so much to say about it.

I have been wanting to try it out since it first came out but L'oreal Paris Malaysia does not carry it. I even considered to order it online and ask people to ship it from US for me but at the end I did not. Told ya, I do not have a lot of love towards mascaras.

Even I have came to the UK I did not get it immediately because I do not see myself using any mascara at all. I feel like a tiny bit of eyeshadow and eyeliner already makes me look like I have a lot of makeup on, let alone applying mascara on top of those 2.

It has a giant wand. I do not own any mascara at the moment so I cannot actually compare how big it is to the other mascara wands but I know it is big. Giant wand is obviously a down side to me because my eyes are small, my upper lashes are short and my lower lashes are almost invisible. I know the application would be very messy because I will tend to get it brushing anywhere but my almost-invisible lower lashes.

BINGO! It really is kind of messy no matter how careful I am at applying. I even get rid of some extra products on the wand and the tip of the wand before application, I still could not get a clean application.

I have to say lengthening and voluminising effects of this mascara are BOMB! They perform so well at lengthening my lower lashes. Imagine I have nearly no lower lashes but after using this mascara, my lower lashes look exactly like those innocent looking Japanese girls who wear long and think upper and lower lashes. I am not even exaggerating.

I was kind of worried of it smudging actually because it is not a waterproof mascara after all. However I do not know why but I felt pretty good about this mascara as in I was not worried that it will smudge or anything. Considering that it is not a waterproof mascara, it is a very go mascara. Even if it is not a waterproof one, it does not smudge easily.

I applied the mascara and went to a club. I danced, I laughed and I sweat. What I wanna say is, it almost did not smudge, I am so impressed considering it is not a waterproof formula. Not as it does not smudge but it holds up very very well. At the end of the day there was just a tiny bit of transfer under my eyes which was pretty easy to clean up because it is a non-waterproof.

My friend and I were testing out the Benefit Roller Lash with this L'oreal Paradise Masacara. She applied them the same way, we went to clubs, we drank and we danced like crazy. After the test L'oreal mascara is the winner. Her only judging factor on mascaras is they have to be smudge-proof. Both mascaras are not entirely smudge-proof but L'oreal mascara holds up better.

I have no words how amazed I am by this mascara. Other than you need to be very very precise in application to avoid it ruining your entire makeup I love this mascara a lot, especially for my lower lashes and I will definitely continue using it.

2. Kat Von D tattoo liquid eyeliner

I am not a fan of black liquid eyeliner to be honest, I have had this Kat Von D liner for quite sometime but I rarely use it. I remember people in the beauty community used to rave about this eyeliner when it first came out but I could not get it in UK or Malaysia so I asked my friend to get it from US for me.

This time I thought my makeup would look nicer and cleaner if I have a big winged eyeliner to go with a entire look, so I decided to give this eyeliner another go. I am not very good with liquid eyeliners, I do not have very good control of my hand and I often do not get my wing eyeliner to look the same on each sides. However I absolutely felt in love with this eyeliner after this time. The felt tip of the liner is so good, like so so good. It is so sharp and precise that you can get a very clean and thin line.

I already know the staying power of this eyeliner is extremely good that is why it is called the tattoo liner, but still I have to say I am so amazed by how well it stayed on my eyelid. It did not move AT ALL despite I was sweating so much all night, my eye makeup was still on point at the end of the day.

3. Soap&glory eyebrow pencil

I do not know since when I begin filling in my eyebrows and incorporated eyebrow pencil into my essentials. I have not use any other eyebrow pencils other than this soap&glory one. The pencil is ultra slim and it has the shade that matches my eyebrows.

I have quite full brows to begin with, I do not need to do a lot with my eyebrows just still need to fill in a bit here and there. I always put a lot of emphasis on the front of my brows which I will fill it in to make my eyes look more concentrated on my face if it makes sense. I love that this brown pencil has a spoolie at on end. Even though the spoolie is quite hard but it is very good at soften the brow after I have filled them in.

4. Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick

I am always a fan of Bourjois lipsticks, I think they have done a very good job at creating the most comfortable formula. Bourjois came out with a new collection of lipstick this autumn, they are matte lipsticks, you know I love matte shades so I decided to give it a try.

Also because there is a Youtuber @stylesuzi , she looked amazing in 01 Hey Nude from in this collection, like the perfect nude for her. FYI the reason why I am excited to try it out because it looks nice on her is I have the same skin undertone as @stylesuzi, we use the same shade of foundation therefore I know if something looks good on her it would probably look good on me too.

I went into the store, I swatched it on my hand and I am not impressed. It was so dry that I could barely swatch it and because it was dry it came out very patchy. However I have made up my mind to get it so I bought it anyway as part of the 3 for 2 promotion. I got home and immediately tried it on my lips, holy moly! It was so soft and creamy but at the same time very light weight, has almost a mousse like texture, I was shocked! Absolutely different from the texture that I got when I swatched it in store. I have not came across this kind of texture, I am truly amazed.

After a while it dries down to a beautiful matte finish and almost transfer-proof. It is not sticky, a bit on the drying side when I wear it for longer period of time but I can definitely ignore this because that is what matte lipstick is, I kind of expected that. It does wear off after food re-application does not make your lips look awful, well of course not as perfect as it was before either.

It has a combination of both sweet and chemical scent to it which is a bit funny and you can definitely kinda taste it on your lips. I do not have an issue with it. What I wanna say is the shape of the lipstick, it has a pointy end which is quite unusual for a lipstick, at least I have never seen anything like this before especially when it is a drugstore lipstick. The pointy end makes application so much easier especially when it comes to some deeper colours and you want to be as precise as possible so that you can skip using lip liner you know.

I have them in 2 shades, 01 Hey Nude! and 07 Joli Carmin'ois. 01 is my my perfect nude, PERFECT! I get so much use of it and could not get enough of it. For this season I feel like I want to either go bold or go nude, like there is no in between, so 01 goes so well with my every eye look (it is not like I have different eye looks you know what I mean).

07 on the other hand is a bright orangey red I have not had any this shade in my collection so I thought I would it. It is such a summery colour, I can definitely see myself wearing it when it is more sunny out there but maybe not in this season, I still love it anyway. Same formula and equally as pigmented.

I will definitely get more shades from this collection, like definitely.

5. Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick By Kate Moss in 01

I feel less self-conscious wearing red lipstick in season, so I got a lot of red lipsticks, different undertone of red of course. I heard people are loving the Rimmel red lipstick in 107 but I could not find it in store, so I settled in for another red which looks very nice too.

I did not know it is not matte lipstick until I got back and tried it one. However it is not on the shiny side either, in fact after like 15 minutes of application it dries down into more of like a satin finish. I like it actually, it looks almost like matte but at the same time quite moisturising. It glides on your lips very well however you might want to use a lip liner beforehand just because it glides on very easily. It has the classic scent of Rimmel lipstick if you have used Rimmel lipsticks before, the scent does not bother me much.

Again I have not own this shade in my collection even though I already have a lot of different red shades. This is more of a cool tone red, it has a blue undertone which makes you teeth look extra white. I could definitely see myself wearing it a lot in this season.

6. Tarte Tartelette in Bloom Palette

I have been using this palette non stop since I got it but I find myself using it a lot frequently this month. There are a few shades in this palette that I think are very nice in doing a brown and bronzy especially when it is autumn now. I especially love the shimmer shades in this palette, so so so pretty.

I have talked about the texture in some of my previous post so I am not going to say it again.

7. Toni&Guy Illuminating Hair Perfume

I absolutely hate washing my hair, I will do everything I can to make my hair look ok. I have dry shampoos of different strength and I recently got a hair perfume to make my hair last longer without having to wash it.

If you have used any Toni&Guy hair products before you know they all have that significant Toni&Guy scent, this hair perfume has the same scent which I love (as long as it makes my hair smell less awful I will love it). Besides being a hair perfume, it is has illuminating effect too. After all the alcohol evaporates (it is a hair perfume after all of course it contains alcohol) there is a bit of oil residue left on your hair which makes your hair looks shiny. I am a fan of this kind of illuminating effect.

We all know that dry shampoos are actually powder so every time after I have spam-sprayed dry shampoo on my hair, my hair would look a bit dusty and matte looking (the colour of my hair is literally matte black). So I would use this hair perfume after dry shampoo, this time not on my scalp but on my hair, away from my roots, to kind of 'restore' my hair colour and make my hair smell so much better.

8. The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%

I have said it before, I love facial oils even though I do not have dry skin. Even though on the website it says this product is oil-free but it literally is an facial oil to me. It still amazes me every time I wake up to a soft and hydrated skin. I love that it has no significant scent as compared to The Ordinary Alpha Lipoic Acid 5% even though they do the same thing to my skin.

It is quite a dense product (not in anyway thick or sticky) but it takes some time to really sink into my skin. I actually love it this way, which I will spend more time in messaging my face trying to help it absorb better.

A big plus point is, it is so dang cheap goodness! You don't need a lot for every application so I think a bottle will last you a good 2 months if you use it on most days of the week. Will I repurchase it? Probably not but that is because I want to try something new like the Emma Hardie facial oil, it is definitely not I do not like it.

9. Barry M Liquid Highlighter

You cannot go to a party without putting on highlighter can you? I CAN OK!!! I have said it more than a few hundred times, I am all about matte! I do not need highlight. But... I still purchase it and loving it. I did not use it on myself but I have used on my friend, they look super gorgeous.

Highlighter has been trending for at least 2 summers and it still is a big trend that people are enjoying. Even though I rarely use any highlighter but I own quite a number of highlighters of different forms. The one that used to love is stick highlighter I think it is more natural looking as compared to powder highlighter which powder highlighters could look like they just on top of your skin and wear off very easily.

A lot of drugstore brands brought out their liquid highlighters during summer. I have had a liquid highlighter from Makeup Revolution in Unicorn Elixir before the Barry M one. That time when I was in the store, Makeup Revolution highlighters did not have testers so I tested the Barry M ones. Barry M highlighters were beaut! However because Barry M highlighter is £1 more than the Makeup Revolution one, I thought they are both drugstore highlighters, should not differ much so I got the cheaper one.

I was so wrong! Makeup Revolution Highlighter is not even close to Barry M's, Barry M's is so so much smoother and better. I regreted it so much for choosing Makeup Revolution over Barry M. But I finally got myself the Barry M Liquid Chrome Highlighter Drops in the 3 for 2 promotion this time, loving it! It looks so much more expensive than the price I paid for it. It is BLINDING!!!

It was so so so pretty when I use it on my face. I can imagine using it underneath your foundation if you wanna have a super glowing skin. However if you want to use it just on your cheek points or some other high points of your face please please please go light-handed! You definitely need just a bit, lesser than a drop. Which indirectly explains why the dropper does not work, the dropper sucks so much.

This post took me so long but I enjoy every moment writing it, hope you like it too. xx
Till then~
