I never collect empty bottles but I guess it would be interesting to write a post about these empties, so I started collecting them.
Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Water Gel RM71.90
Shiseido Bio-Performance Glow Revival Cream - sample
I am a huge huge fan of Hada Labo products, I swear by their cleansers, they are so good. A few months ago they came out with a few new moistures, I bought 2 and I have used up one tub.
I am a person who sweats very easily plus it is Malaysia, so typically I will start sweating the moment I step out of my shower (cause I uhm, wake up at like 12.30pm). I struggle so so much putting anything on my face at this point of time, which I have to kind of chill a little bit and try not to hurry myself up to much. I will have to keep fanning my face after putting on each layer and instead of rubbing the products into my skin, which rubbing will generate heat, I will kind of pat the products onto my skin, in way the tabbing motions cut down the consistency of the intact of my hands on my face, which does not generate as much heat.
YEAH! IT IS HOT AF IN MALAYSIA! WHAT CAN I DO?!?
This Hada Labo get moisturiser can be absorbed by my skin very quickly, so it doesn't leave a very tacky finish and I can continue to layer up more skincare on top of it. However gel formula products are usually not as hydrating as cream formula ones so I definitely will not recommend using this gel moisturiser as a night cream. As for day cream, it is ok and that is because I try not to be picky about it.
I scrapped every single bit of it because I don't have any moisture at the moment that is as refreshing as it is to be applied during the day. Oh it smells really good. Had Labo products do not really have a strong scent and many of them even have no scent. But I appreciate products that have nice scent than those which are totally fragrance-free. This Water Gel has a very soothing and refreshing scent to it but the scent is not prominent at all.
Will purchase this water gel? Probably not.
The sample size Shiseido cream was given by my mum. It was super super rich but it does not seem to be extra moisturising though. It has a very strong scent which I don't really like. Other than that it doesn't do much to my skin.
Mario Badescu Facial Spray £11
ampm Total Brightening Renewal Treatment Mandalic Acid 5% RM59
Hada labo Whitening Lotion Rich RM64.90
I facial spray is huge! I have been using it for so long when I was still in UK. It has a very nice and refreshing rose scent, it feels so good to spray it on my face after I came out from shower, What I did was I spam spray it on my face right after I have cleansed my face.
Other than being refreshing I don't really find the spray doing anything extra to my face. I mean, it does leaves a very thin layer of 'something' of my face but it doesn't help my subsequent skincares to absorb better or what not. My face used to be extremely tightly stretched after I have cleansed and wiped dry my face, like really tight. I couldn't do any face expressions to smile or else my lips will crack, it is that dry in UK! That's why I need a facial spray to at least hydrate my skin for a tiny bit first so I can brush my teeth or reply a few messages before I go into my daily skincare routine, you know, prolonging the time, hahaha~
It's just my habit, I have made it a habit to use facial spray before anything.
I used the ampm brightening treatment as a serum as it appears to be quick thick. Because it is a brightening product so I would only use it during night time. It has a vey strong and weird scent to it, which to me is a bit chemically, even now that I've finished it I am still not a fan of its scent. It was alright in brightening my face but because it is thick, it is very good in keeping my skin hydrated, but I will not repurchase it again.
Hada Labo lotion is the one the skincare that I have been using for ages and still sticking to it now. If I were to bring one skincare with me when I was travelling, it has to be Hada Labo lotion, yes, it is this good. It keeps my skin hydrated even though it is a whitening lotion, but it's hydrating effect is equally good (of course the Hydrating Lotion is much better in hydrating). It has no scent to it, which I am very fine with, I have already used to it not having any scent.
What I usually do at night after I came out of shower is spam spray facial spray on my face, tab tab tab until it absorbed, and then slap on this Hada Labo lotion, pat pat pat, D.O.N.E! The rest of the skincare I will only put on right before I go to bed.
Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+ RM35.95
I swear by Japanese sunscreen, they are watery, not sticky and smells extraordinarily good, especially this by Bioré. I asked my mum to bring 5 or 6 tubes when we went on Europe trip and both of us finished all of them in 2 weeks. The only thing that convinced me that this sunscreen works is that we didn't get sunburn at all. Holy shit! God knows how hot Italy is during summer, we almost got roasted but not sunburn, that's amazing isn't it?!? Thank God for this sunscreen.
I didn't make sunscreen into my daytime skin routine until early this year. I finally realised how important sunscreen in order to prevent hyper pigmentations and wrinkles, so I better start applying now to not regret. I will use a cotton pad soak in micellar water and run it all over my face before cleansing it at the end of the day just to get rid of the sunscreen (if there is still any). I have heard that sunscreen will block your pores, well, I don't know how true is that but there is no harm spending extra 30 seconds removing it everyday, at least I don't mind doing it at all.
Nivea Body Extra Whitening Cell Repair & Protect RM25.30
L'occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream RM125
I remember very clearly I started using Nivea lotion when I was 14. Guess what? I have been using it religiously for the past 10 years, that's crazy!!! I've never been so religious and loyal towards a product before, Nivea lotion is the only one, like seriously.
Actually I have tried switching to body lotions from other brands like Vaseline but at the end of the day I still go back to Nivea. I love Nivea lotion's consistency. It is not too thick and not too thin, it keeps my skin moisturised at the same time it absorbed instantly into my skin which makes my application process very quick. Besides I love the scent too! My bed sheet and blanket are of the same scent, it smells extremely good, makes me feel like - 'yeah! that's my bed!'.
I go through body lotion super quick, almost a bottle every month. I am not sure whether it is because I applied it to my whole body, not just my legs and my arms, but also my neck, my bum, my inner thighs, my belly... that's why it runs out so quickly, or it is because I am applying it every single day.
As for the hand cream, hands down to L'occitane shea butter hand cream and bow! There's nothing better than the shea butter ones and my hands deserve it!
The Body Shop British Rose Body Butter RM88
When I was still in UK, because of the extremely drying weather I use body lotion all over my body and enhance it further with body butter. I would touch up my knees, ankles, feet and elbows with body butter. That sounds extreme I know, but it worked perfectly fine to me. Since then I was hooked onto The Body Shop's body butter.
The Body Shop is a very affordable brand in UK because they have sale all year long. I would totally judge you if you even bought something from The Body Shop in an original price. They have at least 30% discount during normal days if you get them online or sometimes 40% discount or 'buy £25 get £10 off' discount, or occasionally when they do Black Friday sale or whatever seasonal sale you can get body butters at a better than 50% discount price, it is such a bargain!
The Body Shop has a wide range of body butter, I found out that their body butters have 2 types of consistency, one is really think almost solid kind of consistency; another one is straight up liquid. Both are thick, really thick, with very high viscosity, can hardly move when you scope it onto your hand. Like shea butter and passion fruit (they discontinued the passion fruit range, I am still very very sad about it) are of the thick consistency. Other than that they are of a thinner texture, still rather thick as compared to other brands, including the British Rose one.
Other than the above mentioned, I have used up a bottle of shower gel but I didn't come around to take a picture of it. It is from Innisfree, the cherry blossom one.
Phewwwww~ that's a lot of words. I took a number of breaks in between while typing.
Till next time~
Love,
Xiaohui
